I’m so sorry that I’m a little late catching up with you again. I’ve been busy setting up my Heartfelt Shop at last!
I’ve already sold quite a bit of the stock, so have to order some more to replace what has disappeared already. I set up a section to show the items that we used in the class that day. It meant those bits and pieces were easily seen. When anyone was interested in an item that we had used that could pick it up straight away. It proved to be a good move.
The card we made in our first class of the year was one I show you last time. It was the owl from The Sugar Hollow Collection, but a little bit smaller. Because it was smaller, we had to use a different oval. the one I showed you last time I used the Eyelet oval. This time I used the Eyelet Ovals and Basics Large.
We also used the Flowering Dogwood for the flowers and leaves. A little bit of 3D Gold Paint finished the cage off nicely. Of course, the whole card front and inside oval were covered in Crystal Clear. The flower petals were edged with Baby’s Breath Ultrafine Transparent Glitter. It looked SO pretty and sparkly!
I then set about making some roses (from the Classic Rose Collection), because I want to teach how to make them at our next classes on the 2nd and 3rd of March (You’ll be there, won’t you!?). I used the roses and dies from the collection, but also the new Classic Rose Mold from Heartfelt Creations. This mold takes half of the work out of shaping the flowers. Great!!! After I had made a few roses of different sizes I decided to do something different with them! I made them into a necklace! Have a look!
It looks SO pretty on! The petals have Glass Glitter (little shards) on them so they really sparkle! I wear it with the large rose at the bottom, slightly to the left, then the smaller ones come up the side.
We won’t make this at our next class, but we WILL make a card with roses!
I’m STILL trying to get my Heartfelt Shop up and running. It’s very complicated with Heartfelt Creations in Indiana, USA. They are 14 hours behind us so it’s tricky, to say the least, in trying to work out what day and time they are at. Being 14 hours apart we are in daylight while they are in moonlight! By the time I receive their e-mails in the morning, they are back in bed. Never mind! I’m sure we’ll get there.
Unfortunately we may not have the stock ready for our first 2018 class on 2nd and 3rd January, but we won’t give up trying to get it here somehow.
I thought I’d share with you my Heartfelt Creations bag that I have. It has a pocket, finished in clear plastic, on both the outside front and back of the bag where you can show off your works of art – or whatever takes your fancy!
I used a photo of my grand-daughter, Rachael, for the front. I took her to the beach one late afternoon, and she found a beautiful big starfish. I finished the picture off by adding some Hibiscus and fish from Heartfelt Creations “Under the Sea” Collection.
On the back of the bag I tizzied up a photo of my Lagotto Romagnolo dog, Abbie. She had been playing under the hose, so I dried her off with a towel on the lounge – & she stayed there! – just Would Not move! I have taken Abbie’s photos out of the pocket because the reflection in the plastic was just too much. I have leaned it against it’s pocket.
Don’t forget to be ready for the 2nd & 3rd Jan! I’m sure you’ll love it!
Yes, I’m still here! I’ve been flat out like a lizard drinking trying to keep up with all of the family birthdays that we have at this time of the year – 2 in December, 5 in January & 2 at the beginning of February. To make things even more complicated, 2 were 21sts, 2 were 18ths & 1 was for a 50th!
All of these “special” cards to make kept me overly busy! It’s a good thing that my Card-making Classes goes into recess for the month of January!! Now you know why!
However, back into it on 2nd and 3rd of February – so dust the cobwebs off and find all of your equipment ready for then. I have a very pretty but different card all ready for you.
I’m also going to be opening a “Jenny’s Cards from the Heart Store”. Hopefully that will be up and running by the first class, so you should be able to purchase the items used for making the card. Fingers crossed!!
I thought I would share with you the card I made for grandson Riley’s 18th birthday. I used the Monkeying Around Collection. I added a piece of card, with a centre circle die cutout, to the main front, raised by using double foam strips to make it 3 dimensional. Palm trees (from “Palm Tree and Monkey” stamps & dies) were attached to both sides of this top card. Strung between the palms was the monkey lying back in his hammock sucking on a coconut with the top cut off (from “Monkeying Around” stamps & dies). Because of the 3D effect it looks like he’s swinging in the air. I’ll attach a photo so you can see what I did.
I’ve another 18th coming up and the 50th, so I’d better get busy! The 18th is finished but the 50th is only half way there.
Well, it looks like we’ve moved on from the rain for a few days. We’ve already passed the annual average rain fall & it’s only August!! I don’t think we’ve done that for a few years. At last the sun is shining & I’ve been able to have a cup of tea in my front garden patio….Beautiful!! I’m so sorry I haven’t spoken to you for a while, but I’ve been having hip issues. The cortisone I had didn’t seem to do much good this time, so the Doctor (a lovely compassionate man) is trying alternative treatments. Cross your fingures! I’ve just finished Seasol-ing all my pot plants (everything is potted!) so, hopefully I’ll have masses of flowers very soon- & lemons – & Kafir Limes.
The complicated card we made last class went very well, even ‘tho it took a lot of concentration for 4.5 hours. At the end everyone was “fair weared out”! – but were very happy with the card they had made.
For the next class I’m changing from Flowering Dogwood & using the “Under the Sea” collection. I really love this set & the colours that can be brought into the fish & hibiscus flowers. I think I’ve already shown you a card I made from this collection. It was the first Heartfelt Creation I made – & loved it. My Blog heading is also from a card I made from this collection. Next classes are on 1st & 2nd September. I hope you can make it!
For now I’ll show you a couple of other cards I have finished.
Thank goodness for some sunshine! I thought that the rain & WIND would never stop! I’ll have to make the most of the break, ‘tho, because we are heading into some more of the same.
I thought I’d share another one of my cards today. This one is my favourite so far! I really feel like that about all of them! I get great enjoyment out of making 3D cards and sharing them with you and the ladies who come to my classes. It is SO different from those that I’ve been used to making.
This one is another “Flowering Dogwood” set. I have included the box envelope in the photo with the card. The flowers have been dipped in the Krystallos Shard Glass so they REALLY sparkle.
